Unlike a flight booking your car hire booking through NiceAirport.Guide can in most cases be cancelled up until the day before your pick up, with a full refund.
To cancel your booking find your confirmation email and select the “Manage Your Booking” button on it. You will be taken to the website where you can select to cancel the whole booking or just the insurance. You will be informed what your refund will be, and then receive a confirmation on email of your cancellation.
Prior to booking you should check the cancelation policy for the car hire option you select as some of the car rental companies have different policies. Most of them state that you are personally responsible for cancelling your car hire booking. And also you will need to cancel the excess insurance separately. A full refund is provided if your booking is cancelled within 48 hours of making the booking. This applies unless your pick up time is less than 48 hours away. If your booking was made less than 24 hours before the pick-up, then there is a cancellation fee.
In most cases a full cancellation refund is provided up to 24 hours before your pick up time. This does depend on the car hire deal you selected. If it displayed ‘free cancellation’ which most do, then this applies. If it didn’t have free cancellation then an administrative fee of approximately €20 would be charged.
If you cancel your booking with less than 24 hours before your pick up time, you will receive a refund minus approximately €50 cancellation fee for prepaid bookings. If your booking amount was less than this, then no refund will be given.
A ‘No Show’ is when you make a booking but don’t cancel it and don’t pick up your vehicle. In this case no refund is provided.
Car hire companies also have the right to refuse a vehicle to a customer who doesn’t bring the correct documentation and a credit card with sufficient funds for the excess. No refund will be given and this will be classed as a no show. So please check the documentation requirements before you travel.
